After being in normal condition, the possibility to transfer the entire WhatsApp chat history from an Android phone to an iPhone is available in Apple’s Move to iOS app update.
This means that all your photos, videos, voice messages and chat history, as long as you install WhatsApp, can be transferred, in addition to being able to do the same in reverse.
If this is a feature that is highly requested by users, you may first have to manually transfer the content to an iPhone or use a third-party application on a portable computer. However, Apple and Meta became clear about the way to do what works in Move to iOS, which can be free download from Google Play Store (opens in new tab). Much less headaches when someone wants to switch from an iPhone to Android, or vice versa.
A very important function
There was a lot of time I could work in a telephone shop where I helped to configure and transfer customer data from their old phones to a new one, and with WhatsApp it was always a guarantee that everything was transferred from one device to another.
There were times that I had to transfer individual files from an Android device to other Bluetooth crossings, or it was from Android to iOS, with the intention of transferring the multimedia content, but admitting the defeat that transferring the chat history was impossible.
Thanks to this update for Move to iOS, so you are not a problem. Now it’s just an additional step in the app that transfers contacts and other personal data.
WhatsApp has indicated in a post (opens in new tab) that you must have your Android phone updated to version 5 as a minimum, and your new iPhone for iOS 15.5, along with the latest version of WhatsApp on your Android device.
